ALERT: JOB SCAMS
New job scam is spreading through legitimate labor exchange sites.
The latest detected scam is using the employer name, Badger Software Limited, a legitimate company in the United Kingdom, to offer employment opportunities with the intent to take money from job seekers. Content from Badger’s website has been used in the fraudulent emails claiming to be from representatives associated with this company. Please be aware, employers would NEVER ask for payment from persons applying for a job. Please do not respond to any such offers. The Employment Development Department is investigating this issue and is seeking ways to eradicate fraudulent job offers. If you discover potentially fraudulent job listings or employers, please report them to CalJOBSAdmin@edd.ca.gov. Provide as much information as possible to help aid in the investigation.
