Job Description
The reporting location is Silver Strand State Beach and Tijuana Estuary Natural Preserve. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Reserve Manager).  The State Park Interpreter II will be the lead worker as the Education Coordinator of the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve.
 
The Park Aide has an opportunity to provide innovative in-person and virtual interpretation along San Diego Bay, the ocean, and at the largest coastal wetland in southern California. They will develop and maintain educational content on platforms such as Padlet and FlipGrid.  The Park Aide will conduct Parks Online Resources for Teachers and Students (PORTS) programs including Passports blended-learning at both locations as well as livestreams on various platforms. They will conduct informal programs such as Crown Cove Aquatic Center Day Camps, Junior Guards, Campfire programs, Kayak Tours, and Discovery Tables as well as roving interpretation. The Park Aide will lead in-person in class presentations or in-person field trips with local schools . Some interpretive planning and exhibit development will also be required. Campfire program related musical ability encouraged. Spanish fluency is preferred.
